Don Francks
Don Francks (Iron Buffalo). Another earthling. An endangered species. Began in Vancouver, became one with nature. Played games, fled school, worked hard. Sung songs. Sailed on tramp steamers. Came back to the theatre. Became a foundryman. Appeared on radio and television. Summer stocked it. Did a little vaudeville. Got gigs in niteclubs. Left his hometown driving a 1931 Packard and landed in Toronto which accepted him with open arms and lotsa jobs. Years later, stopped at the Big Apple to record music and to play on and off Broadway. Then to la laland to live and to film. Fell in love with Lily (Red Eagle). Got married on Red Pheasant Indian Reserve in Saskatchewan, staying there for a few years to learn the old ways and raise daughter Cree Summer. The family returned to Toronto to work together in the performing arts and raise Rainbow Sun, a brother for Cree who is also in showbiz. Don has just completed 3 CDs. His mentor is Charles Chaplin and all music like Johann Sebastian Bach and Thelonious Monk. His hobbies include antique cars, motorcycles and blackbooks. You may say he's a dreamer but he's not the only one.
